Gram Sudhar Samiti (GSS) is a state level NGO working on The AIDS Control Program being implemented in Haryana by (HACS) Haryana AIDS Control Society established as per guidelines of National AIDS Control Organization (NACO). National AIDS Control Organisation provides leadership to HIV/AIDS Control Programme in India, implementing one National Plan within one monitoring system.

Our Project

The basic purpose of the Targeted Intervention program is to reduce the rate of transmission among the most vulnerable and marginalized populations. One of the ways of controlling the disease from further spread is to carry out direct intervention program among these groups through multi-pronged strategies, beginning from behavior change communications, counseling, providing health care support, treatment for STDs and creating an enabling environment that will facilitate behavior change. It envisages a comprehensive and integrated approach to marginalized and vulnerable populations such as sex workers, intravenous drug users, men having sex with men, truckers, migrant labour and street children. All over the world, it has been commonly found that particular groups of people are more vulnerable than others to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. These groups, because of their behavioural attributes, are prone to contract the infection more quickly and spread the disease in a very short period.
